Weddings and the Festivals of Waterloo

Festivals of WaterlooAs the smallest of the three cities in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo in Southern Ontario, Waterloo is actually home to a large number of annually held festivals and events, one that belays its “smallest of the three cities” standing.

Home to five parks and also home to a number of historical structures and heritage sites, the city has long been partnered with Kitchener, popularly referred to by many as part of the Twin Cities of Kitchener-Waterloo, and has earned a solid reputation in having the most active festivals and celebrations known to take place in North America.

To-be weds with a thirst for festivals and annual events are in for a treat in a Waterloo Wedding, given the number of events happening within its bounds year in and year out.

From the Ice Dogs Festival held in February to the GO! Music Festival celebrated in March, the city is also home to the Waterloo County & Area Quilt Festival held in May, and also hosts the Waterloo Jazz Festival in July of each year, affording to-be weds with just about every festival theme there is to celebrate.

But of all of Waterloo’s celebrated festivals, it’s the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest – the largest Oktoberfest outside Germany – and the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema held every November that are outstanding festivals worth taking part in.

While there’s really no norm that says festival lovers have to get married in the middle of festival season, there is also no reason why to-be weds with a passion for festivities and celebrations can’t get hitched with an upcoming festival in the horizon is looming.

Long story short, if you and your bride or groom are big on festivals and celebrations, a Waterloo Wedding is sure to mean a lot to you.
